The Need Is Real. The Opportunity Is Now.

In Charlotte, too many young men — particularly from underserved and underrepresented communities — face significant barriers to academic success, economic mobility, and healthy development. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools reports a graduation rate of 84%, below the state average. Nationally, only 36% of Black men ages 18–24 are enrolled in college, compared to 41% of their White peers. In STEM fields, African-American males represent just 2.2% of the workforce.

B.E.A.M. exists to change those odds. We serve young men ages 5–17 with structured, relationship-centered programs that meet them where they are and walk with them through every stage of the journey — from early character development through high school graduation and beyond.

This is not a one-time program. This is a 28-year commitment to the young men of this city. And it only continues because of people like you.

What Your Support Makes Possible

When a young man walks through our doors, he enters a community built for him — mentors who look like him, who have walked roads like his, and who believe in what he is capable of before he believes it himself.

"We don't just prepare young men for college. We prepare them for life."

The results speak for themselves. 100% of our Alpha Beautillion graduates transition to a post-secondary pathway. Our Coding Academy participants demonstrate measurable gains in STEM knowledge and digital literacy. And across every program, young men leave with something no statistic can fully capture: a belief in their own potential.

That transformation does not happen without resources. Your gift today funds the mentors, the programs, the scholarships, and the spaces that make it possible.
