For nearly 30 years, B.E.A.M. volunteers have walked with young men in Charlotte and surrounding areas, from their first Scout meeting to their senior-year Beautillion. Our mentors reflect the communities we serve. 100% of our Alpha Beautillion graduates have gone on to college, trade school or a career, and 15 Beautillion seniors have shared $93,000 in scholarships.

The Alpha Beautillion is where the pathway leads. Every graduate has gone on to college, trade school or a career, and the men who walked with him are still there when he comes home.

In 1997, a group of Charlotte men noticed something. Too many young men in our community were growing up without someone in their corner. Programs came and went: a good summer camp here, a mentor for a semester there. Then the young man was on his own again, right when the stakes got higher.

So we built something that stays. B.E.A.M. starts with a young man in kindergarten and walks with him all the way to graduation. Scouting teaches him to serve and lead. The academies sharpen his mind and his goals. The Beautillion sends him into adulthood with a plan, a scholarship opportunity and a circle of men who know his name.

Nearly 30 years later, that is still the whole idea. No young man should have to figure it out alone.
