Building Pathways.
Powering Futures.
The B.E.A.M. Foundation equips youth, families, and career‑seekers with the skills, guidance, and employer connections needed to succeed in the workforce.
The Challenge
Opportunity is growing — but access is not equal.
Charlotte is on the move—yet too many residents are being left behind. Though honored as a city for impressive upward economic mobility gains, Charlotte still ranks 38th out of 50 among the largest U.S. cities—far below where it should be for a city of its size and prosperity.
Meanwhile, North Carolina continues leading the nation. In 2025, CNBC named NC the Top State for Business for the third time in four years—highlighting its strong economy, skilled workforce, and business‑friendly environment.
Yet without accessible pathways to high-wage careers ($35–$50/hour) across industries like energy, construction, and trades, too many talented youth and families remain sidelined.
Our Solution
B.E.A.M. builds bridges between people and opportunity.

Breaks down educational and career pathways—college or trades—so students and parents can make informed choices.

Connects learners with targeted, employer-aligned training that leads to real skills and certifications.

Co-designs programs with industry leaders—so our graduates step directly into job opportunities.

Involves parents and caregivers in the process, fostering informed, supported decision-making.
Proof of Impact
Project Alpha Symposium
Project Alpha: A Workforce Development Experience
In 2025, B.E.A.M. welcomed over 100 youth and parents to Duke Energy’s Charlotte headquarters for a dynamic symposium featuring speakers from Duke Energy, Bank of America, Microsoft, and Wells Fargo.
- Students explored career paths alongside their parents, comparing college routes to skilled trades.
- Parents joined candidly informed sessions on costs, outcomes, and generational choices.
- Everyone walked away with practical next steps—training options, mentorship connections, and hiring pathways.

B.E.A.M. works in close partnership with the Urban League of Central Carolinas, Duke Energy, and other civic and corporate allies to build effective and equitable workforce pipelines.
