ABOUT CODING ACADEMY

The Coding Academy is a 10-week summer program introducing coding and development to African-American middle school males (ages 11-13), especially those from low- or moderate-income (LMI) backgrounds. Offered virtually for $75 (with stipends available), the Academy meets twice weekly to cover coding fundamentals, life skills, and financial literacy. Industry mentors guide students through hands-on projects and the Software Development Life Cycle, building practical skills and inspiring future STEM careers.

STEM careers continue to offer tremendous growth and opportunity, but African-American males remain underrepresented in these fields. The Coding Academy seeks to bridge this gap, providing early exposure, hands-on learning, and mentorship to inspire students toward a successful future in STEM.
