ABOUT ALPHA ACADEMY

Alpha Academy is a leadership and college readiness program for young men of color in grades 6–10 in the Charlotte area. Our mission is to enrich lives by fostering academic excellence, social refinement, and cultural awareness, helping young men become well-rounded leaders. Through mentorship, skill-building, and character development, Alpha Academy prepares students for college, career, and positive contributions to their communities. Monthly in-person sessions, virtual workshops, and field trips provide students with the guidance, tools, and experiences necessary to succeed.

WHY ALPHA ACADEMY?

In the 2023–24 academic year, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools reported a graduation rate of 84.0%, below the state average of 86.9%.

Our focus on academic improvement, leadership development, and college readiness provides students with:
